Almond Milk Smoothie



I’ve put my coffee days behind me, well somewhat.  I occasionally have coffee but I am trying so hard to be healthy in the mornings so that I have energy all day, and not just the first part of it.  Making a smoothie everyday has been great because I know what I am putting in me will stay with me till lunch and give me a bit of energy throughout the day.  I recently heard that coconut oil gives you energy.  I am not really sure if its true, but I love it for so many reasons, and I love the taste, so I thought why not?  I have been putting a bit of yogurt in my smoothies instead, but I am trying coconut oil now.  I also will occasionally substitute peanut butter for the almond butter, or I might put both in.  I also put a heaping tablespoon of almond butter which might end up being more like 2 tablespoons of almond butter.  I actually eyeball  everything and don’t measure.  But the recipe above should yield good results, and depending on which ingredient you like best you can add a little more or less or whatever.  Experimental smoothies sometimes end up being the most delicious.
